All high school students are encouraged to apply for this educational program for cultural exchange in China. Students who meet the following criteria are most likely to succeed in the application:

1)      At the expected date of school year in China, students are at least 15-years-old but no more than 18;

2)      Students have maintained a GPA of 3.0 or above in the past two years;

3)      Students have started to learn Chinese and have the language proficiency at least at the beginner’s level;

4)      Students have good moral character, adequate self-control and the degree of living and social skills that are developed at the age of adolescence;

5)      Students have not been previously enrolled in any exchange program to China for more than one semester.

 

Application preparation takes time. It is advised that students should initiate application at least three months prior to the intended start of the school semester in China. While the three-page Application Form is not difficult to complete, the subsequent materials in support of the application are also required in the application package: Student Family Album, Medical Record, Letter to Host Family, Academic Transcript, Teacher Recommendation, Photocopy of Passport or Birth Certificate, FIEA Rules & Regulations for Parents and for Students, Affidavit for Exchange Program Participants (FIEA), and FIEA Outbound Program Agreement. In addition, 5 passport size photos should be sent with the application package.
